Now, we have made it part of our own selection so that you can experience a Chardonnay that combines classic French craftsmanship with plenty of personality.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe estate's oldest vines – and you can taste it\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eBehind the wine lies one of the most valuable things a winery can have: experience. The grapes come from Domaine Boussard's oldest plot in Venoy, where the vines were planted way back in 1988. With an average age of about 38 years, the grapes come from vines that have had decades to develop their character.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe vineyards are situated on soil with clay and limestone from the Jurassic period, right on the edge of the Chablis region. This provides an exciting starting point for a Chardonnay where ripe fruit, freshness, and mineral nuances play together beautifully. There is both depth and elegance here – without the wine becoming heavy or losing its liveliness.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eOaked Chardonnay at its absolute best\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eIt is in the cellar that the wine gains its special balance. Half is aged in oak barrels for 6–12 months, while the other half matures in steel tanks. Two different methods, each contributing something important.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe steel tank helps preserve the grape's fresh, pure expression, while the oak adds structure and extra aromatic complexity. The result is a dry, round, and full-bodied Chardonnay with notes of ripe fruit and an elegant finish of vanilla and dried fruit.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe barrel plays an important role but never steals the show. It is precisely the balance between freshness, fullness, and discreet barrel notes that makes this Bourgogne Blanc so interesting.
