Finishing in maple syrup casks introduces rich sweetness while softening the naturally spicy character of the rye. The aroma reveals maple syrup, vanilla, dark caramel, toasted oak and warming spice. On the palate, caramelised apple, ripe plum, rye bread and creamy sweetness develop in layers, followed by a long, warm and gently peppery finish.
