A DYNAMIC AND ORIGINAL COLLABORATION
Inspiration and innovation are at the heart of The Macallan, and nowhere is this more evident than in The Edition Series.
Edition no. 3 brings the taste experience of The Macallan to life through aroma, utilizing Master Perfumer Roja Dove's remarkable sensory knowledge and expert sense of smell to create the third unique expression in the range.
Edition no. Born of two art forms, 3 unites the worlds of whiskey and aroma to reveal the complexity of single malt character and the power of the senses in the creation and experience of The Macallan.
When we experience and enjoy whisky, the power of aroma is indisputable - and it is this power that makes the approach to Edition No. 3 really fascinating.

Roja brought his skills to the distillery and the creative process, sniffing a number of whiskey samples to provide his thoughts and interpretations of the character and aromas he encountered.
Roja's articulation of aromas was then used in the whiskey's creation to select dominant notes that shape the final character of Edition No.3.
Sourced from a combination of European and American oak casks, Edition No.3 has a sweet and fruity character that balances the heavier base recognizable in our single malts with citrus, vanilla, flowers and freshly cut oak.
AROMA
Reminiscent of a fine scent with vanilla ice cream, fresh oak scrub and delicate flowers. Orange oil provides subtle grandeur, while ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg whistle in and out. Vanilla provides sweetness with citrus fruits in the foreground before chocolate comes to the fore.
Burnt oak gives a soft finish.
