The Gift
This release is about a special time of year and the vibrant, playful design of the packaging reflects the happy and festive nature of this occasion. The unique, multi-layered gift box showcases Erica Dorn's bespoke abstract design, and the packaging's color palette also expresses the Hogmanay story.
Red is a color synonymous with our history and heritage. It is the outer color and represents fire created by the coal traditionally given as a gift at the Scottish custom of first footing, and it also has connotations of luck, success, happiness and vitality.
Opening the gift box reveals a blue interior color representing the night sky on Hogmanay (New Year's Eve) and the blue of Scotland's national flag, the Saltire.
When the gift box is opened, the bottle is surrounded by rich amber colors that shine like when you open a chest of gold. This represents the Scottish shortbread, a rich, sweet biscuit eaten at Hogmanay, which is also present in the whiskey note.
