Distilled and bottled in Bardstown, Kentucky, this is "the wise man's rye."
Kentucky Owl is a more recent addition to the American whiskey world, as the original Dedman family distillery was abandoned during the 1920s prohibition era and its warehouse was infamously raided by none other than Al Capone himself.
This 11 year old is from batch no. 1 and was bottled in July 2017 with a proof of 110.6 US proof.
While the Kentucky Owl brand remains a sourced whiskey from other distilleries, it was recently purchased by the Stoli Group, which has announced plans to build a Kentucky Owl distilling complex in Kentucky in the not-too-distant future.

AROMA
The aroma of this rye has elements of sweet pine, honey, nougat, vanilla, cloves and lavender. Oaky undertones, subtle cedar sawdust or freshly cleaved cedar. Rich in texture and not forwardly spicy on the nose.
TASTE
It immediately covers the whole palate and nutmeg and cinnamon give way to pepper spice with vanilla on the front and anise across the middle. Subtle cinnamon spices cling to the aftertaste.
