Macallan 12 Year Old 110 Proof – A new classic in the Sherry Oak Collection?
The Macallan has set the standard for luxury whiskey for years – and now they're teasing what looks like a new classic: Macallan 12 Year Old 110 Proof Sherry Oak .
This is the first time we've seen a 12-year-old Macallan at this strength – and it hits exactly the sweet spot many fans have been looking for: An age-declared whisky with a high alcohol content and full sherry influence .

A gap in the range is being filled
Until now, fans have had to choose:
-
If you want a 12 year old Macallan Sherry Oak , you'll get it at 40% ABV.
-
If you prefer high strength, go with the annual Macallan Classic Cut , which is typically around 50–52% – but without an age indication.
But now… something new is coming. The Macallan 12 Year Old 110 Proof (55% ABV) combines age, quality and strength in one dram.
Tasting notes that promise something very special
Macallan itself describes this edition as:
“Leading by European oak casks, seasoned with sherry wine from Jerez in Spain, this whisky delivers a complex and deeply sensual experience.”
Scent : Sticky dates, cherry compote, cinnamon, cocoa and dried orange slices
Taste : Rich oak, sultanas, ginger, star anise, mandarin and espresso beans with dark chocolate
Finish : Syrupy toffee, mocha and sweet cinnamon
It's sherry whisky on steroids – and a pure paradise for fans of oak, dried fruit and warm spices .
Only for the USA – or will we get it in Denmark?
So far, everything suggests that the Macallan 12 Year Old 110 Proof is intended for the American market, where Macallan already has versions at 43% ABV (86 Proof). But with such great interest in sherry-aged whisky globally, it is reasonable to believe that this bottle will find its way to the rest of the world – hopefully also to Denmark and Whiskystack.com .

We are following developments closely and will update immediately when the bottle becomes available with us.
What is special about Macallan 12 Year Old 110 Proof?
It combines 12 years of aging with a high alcohol percentage and a full sherry profile – something fans have long requested.

Is it available in Denmark?
Not yet – but there is hope. We are keeping an eye on the launch and hope that it hits the European market.
Is it a limited edition?
It is not known – but the format and strength suggest that it could become a collector's bottle.
