100% Chardonnay from the heart of northern Burgundy
On the limestone-rich slopes of Venoy, close to Chablis, Domaine Boussard cultivates Chardonnay with great respect for the region's unique terroir and long-standing winemaking traditions.
Cuvée Les Pierres Blanches – "the white stones" – derives its distinctive character from the limestone-rich Kimmeridgian soils with fossil deposits, which contribute the wine's signature minerality and elegant structure. The vineyard's south-west-facing exposure provides ideal conditions for the grapes to develop an excellent balance of freshness, finesse and ripe fruit.
The 2024 vintage was challenging, yet highly promising. A wet growing season with significant mildew pressure reduced yields, but meticulous grape selection resulted in a wine of impressive quality. In the glass, the wine is fresh and vibrant with aromas of lemon, lime, white flowers and chalky minerality. The palate is dry, precise and elegant, offering crisp citrus flavours, refreshing acidity and a long, mineral-driven finish.
The wine is gently vinified and matured in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for up to 12 months to preserve the pure expression of the Chardonnay grape and the authentic character of the region. Only a minimal amount of sulphites is added at bottling.
2024 vs. 2023 – What's the difference?
Although both vintages originate from the same vineyard parcels and share Domaine Boussard's elegant house style, they reveal different expressions of the terroir. The 2024 vintage emphasises freshness, vibrancy and mineral precision, with pronounced citrus notes and a lively acidity. The more generous 2023 vintage, by contrast, offers greater body, riper fruit and increased aromatic complexity. If you are looking for a classic, fresh Burgundy Chardonnay with refined elegance, 2024 is an outstanding choice.
A refined Burgundy Chardonnay combining classic French elegance, vibrant minerality and remarkable versatility – perfect with shellfish, fish, white meats or simply enjoyed as an elegant glass on the terrace.
Our visit to Domaine Boussard:
My name is Kristoffer Glerup, and I am the founder of Whiskystack.com. In the spring of 2026, I drove around Burgundy from one small winery to the next.
Over several days, I tasted more than 100 different Burgundy wines. Many were good. Some were really good.
But one wine kept sticking in my mind.
In a small village near Chablis, I visited Domaine Boussard — a small family-owned domaine run by the 4th generation. Not a big, flashy winery. No tourist buses. No smart marketing. Just passion, tradition, and uncompromising quality.
When we tasted their Chardonnay “Cuvée Les Pierres Blanches 2024,” it went completely silent around the table.
It was precisely what you hope to find when you travel to Burgundy. Purity. Minerality. Balance. A wine with personality and nerve.
Production is very small, and the bottles quickly sell out locally in France. So we made a quick decision:
We bought everything we could get.
This also means that this wine can only be purchased at Whiskystack.
Some wines taste good.
Others tell a story.
This is one of them.
