Stauning R.Y.E. PX Sherry Oak

Stauning R.Y.E. PX Sherry Oak is a complex Danish rye whisky made from locally grown rye and barley from West Jutland. The grain is floor-malted at the distillery before the spirit is double-distilled in small copper pot stills heated over an open flame. Initial maturation in new American oak casks provides structure, vanilla, spice and toasted wood character. The whisky is then finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, adding richness and notes of raisins, dried figs, plums and dark fruit. On the palate, caramelised fruit, sweet spices, pepper and elegant oak combine in a smooth and well-balanced profile. The finish is long, warming and persistent, with the spicy nature of the rye remaining in harmony with the deep sweetness of the sherry casks.
