Stauning Smoked R.Y.E. Porter Beer Cask

Stauning Smoked R.Y.E. Porter Beer Cask is a limited Danish rye whisky combining Stauning’s smoky house style with porter casks from Danish craft brewery To Øl. It is made from floor-malted rye and barley grown on Denmark’s west coast and smoked using local peat and heather. After double distillation in small copper pot stills heated over an open flame, the whisky first matures in heavily charred American oak before being finished in porter beer casks. This distinctive maturation creates an intense profile with vanilla, campfire smoke, dark malt and toasted rye bread on the nose. The palate develops notes of black coffee, ripe cherries, orange peel, chocolate and golden tobacco, followed by a velvety finish with rye spice and restrained smoke.
