The Macallan Oscuro 2010 is a whisky that speaks directly to the senses. Part of the exclusive 1824 Collection, Oscuro (Spanish for "dark") celebrates the deep colour and rich depth of flavour that classic sherry cask-aged whisky can achieve. It is produced exclusively in Oloroso sherry casks, a large proportion of which are first-fill, resulting in a deep golden, almost burnt copper colour, and a velvety smooth taste experience.

Aroma and taste

The nose is a blend of ripe forest fruits, dark chocolate, fresh orange peel and creamy vanilla. There is a sweetness and warmth that only sherry casks can add.

In the mouth the whisky really unfolds with notes of dried figs, spiced oranges, crisp autumn apples and a soft richness that dances elegantly on the tongue. The aftertaste is long and satisfying – exactly as you would expect from a dram of this class.

Unfiltered and unadulterated

At 46.5% ABV and unchill filtered, Macallan Oscuro retains its full expression and texture. The whisky is gently watered with natural spring water from the Macallan Estate and rests in cask for a minimum of six months before bottling, adding an extra dimension of depth and balance.
