Stauning Dirty Bastard is not a whisky like any other. It challenges tradition and dares to think new – and the result is an experience that shatters all expectations. As part of Stauning's experimental Research Series, Dirty Bastard builds on the popular Bastard, but takes it to completely new heights with its unique triple aging.

Triple Layering – A Tribute to Complexity

The aging begins in new American oak casks, which provide the whisky’s core with warm notes of vanilla and wood. This is followed by aging in mezcal and tequila casks – a devilish idea that adds herbal complexity and a smoky edge. Finally, the masterpiece is completed in used stout casks from Danish breweries To Øl and Fanø Bryghus, which contribute dark body, hints of chocolate, roasted malt and hop bitterness.

This isn't just whiskey – it's a journey.

Flavor Profile – A Sensory Adventure

The nose greets you with rich aromas of malted grain, cinnamon, cocoa and a delicious nuance of tobacco. In the mouth, a layered flavor unfolds with dark chocolate, chili, vanilla and roasted nuts. The hops and stout notes balance it all with a delicious malt body and bittersweet finish. The finish is long and leaves a warm sensation of vanilla, smoke and dark beer on the tongue.

The whisky is made from 51% ground malted rye and 49% ground malted barley, all from local Danish farms. The local roots combined with global inspiration make Dirty Bastard an exceptional representative of Danish whisky at its best.
