Elegant and complex with notes of honey, leather and walnut. Matured in a mix of Oloroso and PX sherry casks, and bottled at 46.9% for maximum flavour.

What is the difference between the four editions in the Bowmore Sherry Oak series?

The Bowmore Sherry Oak range consists of four ages – 12, 15, 18 and 21 years – all of which are matured in Oloroso sherry casks (some with a Pedro Ximénez finish). The older the whisky, the deeper and more complex the flavour profile becomes. The 12 YO is light and fruity, while the 21 YO is full-bodied and layered with notes of nuts, leather and dried fruit.

What does it mean that the whisky is matured in Oloroso sherry casks?

Oloroso sherry casks are Spanish oak casks that have previously held sweet or dry sherry. These casks add notes of dried fruit, caramel, nuts and spice to the whisky – creating a rich and complex character, especially when combined with Bowmore’s smoke.

Is there smoke in the Bowmore Sherry Oak range?
