How much does a Dom Pérignon cost?
The price depends on the vintage and bottle size. You can see the current price for each bottle on this page. Gift sets cost more than the bottle alone, as they include a champagne saber or a vault stand.
Why is Dom Pérignon only available as a vintage champagne?
Because the house only produces champagne in years when the grapes are good enough. Most champagne houses blend several vintages to achieve the same taste every year. Dom Pérignon does not do this, which is why there are years when no Dom Pérignon is produced.
Which Dom Pérignon is the best?
There is no single correct answer. Vintages are different, not better or worse, and reviewers disagree from year to year. If it is to be drunk now, a younger vintage is usually the safe choice. If it is to be stored, it is worth looking at vintages that have had more years to mature.
What is the difference between Vintage and P2?
P2 stands for the second plénitude. It is the same vintage, but it has been stored significantly longer before release, and therefore tastes different: more developed and more concentrated. It also costs quite a bit more.
How long can you store a Dom Pérignon?
It can easily be stored for many more years if kept correctly: lying down, in a dark and cool place, preferably between 10 and 14 degrees Celsius, and without large temperature fluctuations. The refrigerator is fine for the last few hours before serving, not for storage.
How do you serve it?
Chill it to around 8-10 degrees Celsius. Use a regular white wine glass instead of a narrow flute — there is more to smell than the flute allows. Open it gently rather than with a pop if you want the bubbles to stay in the bottle.
