Stauning RØG

Stauning RØG is a Danish Smoked Double Malt made from malted barley and rye sourced near the distillery in West Jutland. The grain is floor-malted on site and dried over a combination of local peat and heather, creating a soft yet distinctive smoky profile. Following double distillation in small copper pot stills, the whisky matures in American oak casks before receiving a finish in Madeira casks. This produces a balanced flavour profile with notes of campfire smoke, toasted grain, stone fruit, gentle spices and caramelised oak. The Madeira finish adds subtle fruit sweetness and greater depth, while the finish is persistent, elegant and pleasantly smoky. Stauning RØG is an approachable yet complex whisky in which smoke supports the other flavours rather than overwhelming them.
