Stauning Smoke

Stauning Smoke is a Danish single malt whisky made from 100% floor-malted barley and smoked with local heather and peat from West Jutland. Bottled at 47% ABV, it combines a pronounced smoky character with an elegant and balanced structure. Maturation in first-fill bourbon, Madeira and Jamaican rum casks introduces additional sweetness, fruit and depth. The aroma opens with peat smoke, heather, honey and delicate spice, while the palate develops notes of dark chocolate, citrus, tobacco and soft smoke. Its finish is long and warming, with lingering sweetness and subtle spice. The result is a complex yet approachable whisky with a clear sense of Danish terroir, bringing together traditional production methods and Stauning’s characteristic willingness to experiment with cask maturation.
