Boussard Les Pierres Blanches Bourgogne Chardonnay 2023

100% Chardonnay from the heart of northern Burgundy

On the limestone-rich slopes of Venoy, just a few kilometres from Chablis, Domaine Boussard crafts a Chardonnay where terroir, craftsmanship and vintage character come together in perfect harmony.

Cuvée Les Pierres Blanches – "the white stones" – originates from the limestone-rich Kimmeridgian soils, renowned for producing wines with pronounced minerality, elegance and remarkable ageing potential. The vineyard's south-west-facing exposure provides ideal ripening conditions, resulting in a wine that combines both depth and balance.

The 2023 vintage is exceptionally generous. Ideal growing conditions produced perfectly ripened Chardonnay grapes with extraordinary aromatic intensity. The nose reveals ripe white peach, juicy pear, ripe citrus and delicate floral nuances, all elegantly supported by the signature chalky minerality. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and complex with excellent concentration, while its natural freshness and precise acidity keep the expression vibrant, refined and beautifully balanced.

The wine is gently vinified and matured in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for up to 12 months, preserving the purity of the fruit and the authentic expression of the region's terroir. Only a minimal amount of sulphites is added at bottling.

2023 vs. 2025 – What's the difference?

Both vintages originate from the same parcels and display Domaine Boussard’s characteristic combination of elegance, freshness and chalky minerality. The 2023 vintage stands out in particular for its generous style, ripe fruit and impressive concentration. It offers rich notes of white peach, juicy pear and ripe citrus, brought together in a complex and harmonious wine with excellent depth. The 2025 vintage is more defined by fresh grapefruit, a crisp opening and a lively mineral tension, while still possessing a rounded, full-bodied structure. If you are seeking the ripest, most aromatic and complex of the two vintages, 2023 is the obvious choice. If you prefer a fresher and more vibrant expression, 2025 is a strong alternative.

A distinctive Burgundy Chardonnay offering remarkable finesse, impressive complexity and excellent ageing potential – ideal with fish, shellfish, poultry, creamy dishes, or simply enjoyed on its own as an elegant glass of wine.

Our visit to Domaine Boussard:

My name is Kristoffer Glerup, and I am the founder of Whiskystack.com. In the spring of 2026, I drove around Burgundy from one small winery to the next.

Over several days, I tasted more than 100 different Burgundy wines. Many were good. Some were really good.

But one wine kept sticking in my mind.

In a small village near Chablis, I visited Domaine Boussard — a small family-owned domaine run by the 4th generation. Not a big, flashy winery. No tourist buses. No smart marketing. Just passion, tradition, and uncompromising quality.

When we tasted their Chardonnay “Cuvée Les Pierres Blanches 2024,” it went completely silent around the table.

It was precisely what you hope to find when you travel to Burgundy. Purity. Minerality. Balance. A wine with personality and nerve.

Production is very small, and the bottles quickly sell out locally in France. So we made a quick decision:

We bought everything we could get.

This also means that this wine can only be purchased at Whiskystack.

Some wines taste good.

Others tell a story.

This is one of them.
