100% Chardonnay from the heart of northern Burgundy
On the limestone-rich slopes of Venoy, close to Chablis, Domaine Boussard cultivates Chardonnay with great respect for the region's unique terroir and long-standing winemaking traditions.
Cuvée Les Pierres Blanches – "the white stones" – derives its distinctive character from the limestone-rich Kimmeridgian soils with fossil deposits, which contribute the wine's signature minerality and elegant structure. The vineyard's south-west-facing exposure provides ideal conditions for the grapes to develop an excellent balance of freshness, finesse and ripe fruit.
The wine is dry, mineral-driven and inviting, with a pale golden colour. The nose offers fresh citrus notes, with grapefruit taking centre stage. On the palate, it opens with a crisp and precise attack before developing a slightly rounder, fuller structure. Its freshness and lively acidity create an elegant balance, while the chalky minerality provides tension and length. The result is an expressive, harmonious and charming wine combining body and finesse with a clean, refreshing finish.
The wine is gently vinified and matured in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for up to 12 months to preserve the pure expression of the Chardonnay grape and the authentic character of the region. Only a minimal amount of sulphites is added at bottling.
2025 vs. 2023 – What's the difference?
Although both vintages come from the same parcels and share Domaine Boussard’s elegant, mineral-driven house style, the two wines reveal different expressions of Chardonnay. The 2025 vintage combines a crisp, precise opening with a rounder, fuller structure, fresh notes of grapefruit and lively, chalky minerality. The generous 2023 vintage offers greater ripeness, concentration and aromatic intensity, with white peach, juicy pear and ripe citrus. If you are looking for a fresh, elegant and mineral wine with a fine balance between tension and roundness, 2025 is an excellent choice. If you prefer greater body, ripe fruit and complexity, 2023 is the natural choice.
A refined Burgundy Chardonnay combining classic French elegance, vibrant minerality and remarkable versatility – perfect with shellfish, fish, white meats or simply enjoyed as an elegant glass on the terrace.
Our visit to Domaine Boussard:
My name is Kristoffer Glerup, and I am the founder of Whiskystack.com. In the spring of 2026, I drove around Burgundy from one small winery to the next.
Over several days, I tasted more than 100 different Burgundy wines. Many were good. Some were really good.
But one wine kept sticking in my mind.
In a small village near Chablis, I visited Domaine Boussard — a small family-owned domaine run by the 4th generation. Not a big, flashy winery. No tourist buses. No smart marketing. Just passion, tradition, and uncompromising quality.
When we tasted their Chardonnay “Cuvée Les Pierres Blanches 2024,” it went completely silent around the table.
It was precisely what you hope to find when you travel to Burgundy. Purity. Minerality. Balance. A wine with personality and nerve.
Production is very small, and the bottles quickly sell out locally in France. So we made a quick decision:
We bought everything we could get.
This also means that this wine can only be purchased at Whiskystack.
Some wines taste good.
Others tell a story.
This is one of them.
