Glenfarclas 25 Years Old

Here we have an absolutely classic Speysider from a family-owned distillery that has been in the family for many years.

This 25-year-old single malt from Glenfarclas has spent its days in 100% Oloroso sherry casks. It is complex with delicate sherry, a whisky that will not disappoint.

It won gold at the 2019 International Spirits Challenge and is a fantastic after-dinner treat. 

Glenfarclas 25 Year Old is a classic Speyside whisky that exudes the beloved sherry character that we know and appreciate from Glenfarclas. Although it matures in Oloroso sherry casks its entire life, it is less of a sherry bomb than the 15-year-old version, which is a classic of the genre.

On the nose, you find classic sherry notes - candied walnuts, smoked almonds - with a hint of menthol, orange marmalade and perhaps a touch of coffee grounds. Quite subtle.

The palate is incredibly clean and balanced, but at the same time rich and robust. Sherry and oak work beautifully together, creating a fine, little sharpness alongside gingerbread, creamy barley and bitter chocolate flavours. Very long finish.

AROMA
A hint of menthol. Classic Sherry notes, perhaps less pronounced than the 15 year old, but the complexity is greater.

TASTE
Incredibly clean mid-palate, but incredibly tart. Really piquant top notes. Sherry and creamy barley, hints of gingerbread and nutty chocolate.
