The 2018 edition of Laphroaig's annual limited edition series is one of the distillery's oldest releases to date - a 28-year-old whisky. It is a carefully selected blend of casks, combining quarter casks, ex-bourbon casks and oloroso sherry butts.
It has earned the reputation of being the best of the series so far, combining the medicinal smoke character of the distillery with the fruitiness displayed by many of the older bottles.
The whiskey has been aged in different cask sizes from quarter casks to butts. Subsequently matured in sherry casks for 12 months.
