The signature red color weaves through our history, starting with our founder Alexander Reid's name - literally "The Red" - to The Macallan's "Choice Old" range, launched over a hundred years ago in 1903, and to Allan Shiach , which marked vintage bottles of The Macallan with a red ribbon in the 1980s.

The Macallan Master Whiskey Maker Kirsteen Campbell presents an unrivaled single malt whiskey that has been slowly matured over five decades under the watchful eyes of generations of whiskey makers until it has reached this perfect moment of maturation. The "new make" spirit from The Macallan's small copper stills was put into handpicked oak casks and aged to mature for fifty years.

During these decades of dormancy, the carefully selected wood has shaped the unique character of the whiskey and given the natural color, the characteristic aromas and the full flavor of this aged single malt.
The oak presentation box is handcrafted in the UK using the same sustainable European oak that we use to make our dishes. The box is beautifully upholstered with sustainable, soft Scottish leather from our renowned partners, Bridge of Weir Leather, which is sustainably sourced.
