The Macallan Sherry Oak 25 Years Old (2024 Release) is a deeply refined single malt that has matured for 25 years in carefully selected European oak casks that previously held sherry. This edition offers an intense and complex flavour profile characterised by dark dried fruits, warm oak character, and refined spices.
On the nose are aromas of raisins, dried orange peel, blackcurrant, and dark chocolate, accompanied by deep notes of toasted oak and spicy warmth. The colour is rich mahogany, reflecting the depth of the cask influence. The palate is full-bodied and elegant with integrated cask notes, warm spices, and a long, pleasant finish that reveals dried fruits and the structure of the wood.
This edition is part of The Macallan’s iconic Sherry Oak series, where the oak (sherry-seasoned) plays a central role in the development of aroma and flavour. With its status as a limited release, it appeals to both collectors and connoisseurs who wish to add a signature sherry whisky to their collection.

What aromas and flavour notes can be expected?
Raisins, dried orange peel, blackcurrant, dark chocolate, spices, and a toasted oak character define this whisky.
How should it be drunk?
Serve it neat in a tulip glass. A drop of spring water can help open up the aromas without losing character.
Is it a limited release?
Yes, as with many other editions in The Macallan's Sherry Oak series, the 2024 release is a limited edition, especially for collectors.
How does the Sherry Oak series differ from Double Cask?
