Following the excellent first part of the Harmony collection, the Single Malt "Rich Cacao", The Macallan distillery offers a new, very limited edition: The Macallan Harmony Collection Intense Arabica.
A whisky that pays tribute to the world of coffee, inspired by the flavour of the Arabica coffee bean from Ethiopia, which is recognised as the birthplace of coffee.
Steven Bremner, Whisky Maker at Macallan, immersed himself in the art of coffee by hosting a Masterclass with world-renowned coffee experts at The Macallan Estate.
He wanted to create an intense whisky reminiscent of the taste of coffee, and chose a combination of American and European oak casks to achieve distinctive notes of espresso coffee "particularly sweet, but also powerful".
"Inspired by Intense Arabica is a tribute to the world of coffee and the incredible journey of the coffee bean."
